News & Thoughts

Hello.

Alright, let's get started. This is the first official post of Extraordinary Contentment and I'll talk briefly about who I am, what I do and what can be expected from this blog. If you read the "about" page, you gained some basic info. If you didn't, hey, I won't judge. I don't read them either. Maybe being the official subject of an "about" page will change that. We'll see.

By now, you know my name is Summer. I'm a wife and a parent to a 6-year-old young gentlemen (sometimes he's not so gentle). I work as a tattoo artist for Ink Revolution Studios. This seems to usually be the smidge of info that grabs everyone's attention. I'll be honest, I won't be talking about it a great deal. I've never fit in well with the tattoo community. I've existed peacefully within it, which, trust me, is rare, but I don't actively participate in it. Maybe I'll touch on it some at another time, but for today's purposes, this is how I make my living.

One reason for this blog's creation is my side project, Vestige Market Soap Co. I'm a soap-making tattoo artist. There, I said it. Making soap and bath products has been a passion of mine for a few years. It's growing right before my eyes from a hobby to a business. I'm looking forward to having an outlet to discuss the products, their availability and many other facets of the project.

Now, I didn't come up with the name Extraordinary Contentment to sell soap here. I'm really looking forward to discussing life here. I'm a dreamer. I'm not sure if it's already obvious, but after a few posts here, there will be no denying it. Contentment is a tough concept for me, and I feel like I'm probably not the only one. This is really the topic that I feel led to discuss  as the main theme here, so the road to contentment is something you'll likely see many posts about. I believe it's fully obtainable for all of us, no matter what our circumstances may be.

Well, this was my introduction. My goal for this is to provide some meaningful reads for like and unlike minds. You may not find many "how to weave a basket with extra magazines" posts (then again, maybe you will. It's only the beginning), but maybe you'll find your mind awakened to a spiritual journey of your own. Give it a try and let's see what happens.
